Christmas Cocktail For İnternational Community Of Bodrum

Bodrum Municipality organized a Christmas cocktail, which was annually celebrated, for the international community residing in Bodrum.

Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras, Republican People’s Party District President Halil Karahan, Bodrum Council Members, the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Province of Muğla Ms. Gülay Kaman Kaplan, the representers of Bodrum Ukrainians Association and many invited guests from numerous countries, which involves Russia, Ukraine, Germany and United Kingdom, etc. attended to this special event, which was held at the municipal café Trafo. Those who attended the New Year’s cocktail party had been a memorable night having shared the happiness of being and living together.

Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras, having started his speech with the wish that every day shall be like a new year, stated that, "We are together with you, our esteemed citizens, who add value to Bodrum and enrich Bodrum's culture. For thousands of years, people from many different tribes, sects, religion and cultures have lived in peace and tranquility in Bodrum. We consider Bodrum as a unique world city. We embrace all 400 thousand people living in this city, regardless of their language, race, political view and income state. We all  live in peace together in Bodrum. Perhaps you have come to Bodrum for a vacation, or maybe by hitchhiking with a backpack; but you loved this city, you settled here with your family and now you are from Bodrum. Even when you are from Bodrum, you have added brightness to the blue color of Bodrum with the flags bearing the colors of your hometowns.  You have contributed a lot to the sparkle of Bodrum, I do thank you. We cook at our homes the local herbs we buy from the same market; eat a plate or two when attending a local wedding, greet each other on our morning walks, and have a toast around the same table.” After his speech, Mayor Aras cut the New Year's Eve cake among the guests. Fecir Ajda Gürsoy jazzed up the night with the songs she performed at the New Year celebration party, which had begun with a cocktail at Trafo café decorated with a Christmas tree and lights. Those who attended the cocktail party had enjoyed the beginning of a New Year and danced along the live music until midnight.
